David Lawrence, CEO and Co-Founder
David Lawrence is a co-owner and senior executive manager of Special Applications Group, LLC, with twelve years’ experience leading a diverse Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business in support of the US Government and partner nations. He is a retired US Army Aviation Colonel with over 26 years of military experience.
He is recognized for keen knowledge of strategic planning and inter-agency and multi-national operations. Dave is a flexible and innovative organizer and motivator with high standards of performance and a reputation for solving complex challenges and exceeding objectives.
He earned a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy at the US Army War College in 2000. He is a Master Army Aviator and maintains an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
Dave is married to his childhood sweetheart, Sonya. They have two sons and two grandchildren who provide ample opportunities to enjoy life outside of the workplace.
Bryan Bean, President and Co-Founder
Bryan Bean retired as a U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel after more than 20 years of service. He is a veteran U.S. Special Operations Command subject matter expert that specializes in integrating multi-level, cross-functional training and assessment capabilities and requirements at the strategic, operational and tactical levels. Bryan has more than 12 years experience in Special Operations, most of that time assigned to an elite helicopter task force. Before co-founding Special Applications Group, he synchronized operations and training for multi-service units, other government agencies and federal and local law enforcement. He spent his last three years on active duty as a strategic capabilities assessment officer for U.S. Special Operations Command. As a senior trainer at the Joint Readiness Training Center and member of Joint Special Operations Exercise Control Groups, he developed extensive experience in the design, conduct, evaluation and management of tabletop exercises, command post exercises and field training exercises, training-readiness management, helicopters special missions and support to special security events.
Bryan Bean has worked with the Joint Special Operations University, all branches of the U.S. military, major local and state law enforcement agencies, foreign defense forces and other U.S. government agencies. He has a master’s degree in human resource development from Webster University and focused his study on experiential training for team building and leadership. He also holds a bachelor’s in English from George Mason University. He has specialized training from a wide range of defense-related courses and institutions, including the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Joint Special Operations Planning Course. He holds the rating of Master Army Aviator.
